ESL Vocabulary
Vocabulary is not an isolated skill. It is based on all areas of communication — listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Thus, having a strong vocabulary in English is the building block for success. As your vocabulary increases, so does your ability to effectively speak, read, write and listen to English conversations. Take the time to focus on improving your vocabulary by doing the exercises below.
As is the case for all the other ESL practice on AfroEnglish, there are two different types of vocabulary practice: one for online practice (on the left side) and one for offline practice (on the right side). There are special instructions on how to download the offline practice so please click here for more information before downloading. The online vocabulary practice links to another website where the it can be completed on the internet. Thus, it is necessary to have an internet connection in order to do the practice. To begin a vocabulary practice just click on any box with a photo below and you will be immediately taken to a new page. After completing each vocabulary online practice, you will be able to see your overall score and review any questions that were answered incorrectly.
For each online practice that you successfully complete with a score of 75% or more, you will receive a certificate of completion that can be downloaded in PDF format. The certificate of completion is a way to track your progress and gauge your overall English vocabulary proficiency. If you don’t pass a particular vocabulary practice, don’t worry. You can retake the practice as many times as you like. More vocabulary practice will be added on a regular basis, so please check back frequently.

Para iniciar uma prática de vocabulário, basta clicar em qualquer caixa com uma foto abaixo e você será levado imediatamente para uma nova página. Depois de concluir cada prática on-line de vocabulário, você poderá ver sua pontuação geral e revisar todas as perguntas que foram respondidas incorretamente.
Para cada prática online concluída com êxito com uma pontuação de 75% ou mais, você receberá um certificado de conclusão que pode ser baixado em formato PDF. O certificado de conclusão é uma maneira de acompanhar seu progresso e avaliar sua proficiência no vocabulário geral em inglês. Se você não aprovar uma prática específica de vocabulário, não se preocupe. Você pode retomar a prática quantas vezes quiser. Mais práticas de vocabulário serão adicionadas regularmente; portanto, verifique com frequência.
